Updates for GMAT Registration

GMAT is an essential examination for the enrolment in the business school application process. It is a computer-adaptive test, which predicts a student’s ability for management programs as MBA and the various programs of Finance.  This test also assessthe students’ ability of analytical writing, understanding of quantitative methods, and verbal and reading skill in standard written English. The full form of GMAT is Graduate Management Admission Test. Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) conducts this examination.

GMAT is not computer based test, rather we can say it is a computer adaptive test. That means a student will get one question at a time and if the previous answer is accurate the difficulty level for the next question will be ascertained thereafter.

Recently GMAC has shortened the exact time frame for GMAT exam by 30 minutes. The verbal reasoning and quantitative sections are shortened. The allotted time for the GMAT exam now is 3 hours and 30 minutes including instructions and breaks. This process has been effective since last year, i.e. April 2018.

The remaining part of the exam process is as usual same. The council clearly states that this newly changed process hasnoimpact on deciding scores in the verbal, reasoning and the quantitative section. These new features provide the candidates flexibility to customize their section and feel comfortable while taking the exam.

GMAT registration process for 2019 is going on throughout the year. Both online and offline mediums are open for registration for the candidate. Every year more than 2, 00,000 candidates appear for the exam. The council give the liberty to the candidates to choose their time and venue for the exam as per their convenience. Not only that a candidate can reappear 5 times throughout the year; but also they have the freedom to reschedule their next attempt after 16 days of the first examination attempt. However this is always advisable to fixed their strategy and timeline before registration for the exam.

The GMAC did not set any criteria for appearing or the examination, but the universities and colleges always set a criterion for the students. Though there is no maximum age limit for the candidate to appear in the examination, but one must complete 18 years of age.

Officially there is no qualification required for GMAT. However, candidates who enrol their name for MBA should possess a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
