During the current crisis, many people have had to change the way they work. From not being near their workmates to working remotely from their workplace, a lot of adjusting has had to take place. For some, all of this change has meant they can not go back to the way things were before and are seeking a new career that is far removed from what they used to do.
For others, especially in high street
retail, the job may have disappeared completely and what was once a promising
career path is now just a dead end. For these people, a fresh start is not only
preferable but an essential step to finding where they fit in, in the ‘new
normal.’

Vegan nutritionist
With people having to spend
days, weeks, or even months indoors, it has led to them confronting wellbeing
issues, lifestyle choices, and food allergies. With the need for people to take
better care of themselves very much in the spotlight, people are using their
confinement to get on top of issues regarding what they are eating,
This has led to an increase
in demand for nutritionists to advise people on what they should (or should
not) be eating. The number of vegans
increased sevenfold between 2014 and 2019, which
means there is a massive market for those who are looking to advise them.

Taxi Driver
If staring at a laptop is something you
want to leave behind, then looking at the world through a windscreen might be a
better option. There are plenty of driving jobs available, but if you don’t
want to be delivering packages, there is always the option of driving people
around instead.
Unfortunately, you can’t decide to be a
taxi driver last thing on Friday and then start driving the next Monday
morning. For a start, you should ensure that you have the right know-how for
this job, such as how you can charge, whether you will work for a larger
company, whether you need any special licenses, and more. There are many other
elements to being a taxi driver that you need to also remember to put in place.
For instance, you will need specialist taxi insurance to get out on
the roads that will be there to support you if you need to make a claim while
you are on the job.

Online language teacher
This is another home-based option, and for
many, this may be something they have learned how to do well over the last
year. This particular job targets those who get
the most from one-to-one teaching, rather than those that enroll in one of
the remote courses you can find with a simple Google search.
Using conferencing software, you’ll be
teaching children in other countries how to speak your native language. If you
are an English speaker, you will most likely be teaching Chinese children, as
that is the current growth area. As China is 6-8 hours in front of most of
Europe, some flexibility will be needed regarding your working hours.
