Why work in the BPO industry?

Philippines boasts of one of the largest BPO hubs in the world. The BPO industry helps the country’s economic status and provide jobs to millions of people in the country. So it’s not a surprise that many people love to work in BPOs in the country.

Here are five reasons that make BPOs a preferred place to work for people

 1. A career in BPO offers a good salary

A job in the call center offers high income compared to other jobs in the Philippines. Whether you’re at an entry-level or supervisor level, the difference in salary is stark and you can see it from the success stories of BPO employees.

Several call center employees have sent their siblings to private colleges, foreign universities, and pay off debt after a successful BPO career. The BPO industry is a good source of income for the citizens of the Philippines.

 2. BPOs offer good benefits

The Philippines BPO industry is known for providing the best employee benefits. Companies provide cab services for employees to make their commute to the office convenient. Additionally, companies provide life insurance, scholarship programs, and learning opportunities.

Many companies sponsor team outings for employees to enjoy, unwind, and prepare employees for the time ahead. Working in a fast-paced environment can be stressful, so physical and mental health wellness is a priority for call centers. Companies conduct regular mental and physical health checkups and sponsor gym membership, fitness app subscriptions, and fitness equipment. These benefits are extended to employees’ family members, which assures good health of employees’ family members.

 3. BPOs offer growth opportunities

It’s a myth that BPO careers are short and do not offer learning and growth opportunities. BPOs expose employees to international clients that help them understand business perspective at a global level. Many companies provide the opportunity to make a department switch and move to other departments. Several call centers offer skill development programs, where employees can learn new skills like a new language.

Once a call center agent has completed probation (3-6 months), he/she is eligible to apply for different roles within the BPO. So based on your interest and skill set, you can choose to work in your preferred role.

4. Good amenities

BPOs provide one of the best amenities to their employees. The employers provide state of the art infrastructure, gym, pantry, snacks, meals, and other amenities to call center agents. The workplace is a designer workplace to match a fast-paced work environment in mind that allows agents to work freely.

5. Good work-life balance

The work at BPOs is fast-paced, but it offers a comfortable life. Agents work 9 hours every weekday and take complete off on weekends. Unlike other jobs where people might have to work from home on weekends, jobs at BPO are a respite. Many agents spend their weekends with colleagues and go on tours. A few do errands and relax with their family.

A job at a BPO isn’t as bad as it sounds. If you’re looking for a promising career and handsome compensation, a BPO career is a great option.
