Tips to maintain your hair healthy and shining

Everybody loves to have silky, bouncing hair. Healthy hair, whatever its length maybe looks so attractive and enhances one’s looks. But not all are bestowed with this naturally. More than anything else it depends on your genes and also how well you maintain your hair.

If you want your hair to be healthy and shining all the time make sure to follow a regular hair care routine. Any random one-time application will not help much. Make it a habit to include these along with your skincare.

Tips to follow:

·         Wash your hair regularly. Your hair is exposed to the elements of nature and is prone to attract dust and smoke prevalent outside. Washing your hair will help remove the dirt and keep your scalp clean. When it comes to washing, choosing a shampoo also plays an important part. Choose a shampoo and conditioner according to your hair type. There are so many products available in the market. Don’t be tempted by the advertisements to try out any new launch on your hair. This may do more bad than good.

·         When we are young, the hair that we have is naturally good. What makes it worse is the number of products and treatments that we subject it to. Coloring, straightening, perming, rebonding, etc are so many treatments that we give our hair. Due to this, the hair loses the natural quality. Consult professionals like Preen hair salon to help you save treated hair.

·         Include a lot of protein in your diet. Protein is responsible for hair growth since our hair is made of this element. Eat a lot of lean meat, dairy products, lentils, egg, fish, and beans. Protein hair packs are available in the market. Choose a good one and use it regularly for the best results.

·         Don’t tie your hair tight. Your scalp becomes irritated if tied tight for a long time. This may lead to hair fall and thereby receding hairline.  Many people make a high pony even for kids. This is not a good practice. Loosen it a bit and let it breathe.

·         When staying outdoors in the Sun, it is better to cover your hair with a scarf. Don’t let your hair be exposed to direct sunlight. This can also weaken your hair follicles. Also, it leads to a lot of sweat accumulation and thereby hair becomes oily and attracts dust.

·         Omega-3 fatty acids are also considered good for hair health. It is present in a good amount in yogurt, flaxseed, salmon, and sardines.

Massaging your hair with mildly hot oil and then heading to the shower can also show good results. Also, remember to dry your hair completely and not to brush it when wet.
